Main Beam Selection:

Beam is the main component connecting left and right longitudinal beams. It measures its torsional resistance and the distribution of the beam on the frame, which directly affects the internal stress of the frame and the stiffness of the frame. A reasonable design of the beam can ensure that the frame has sufficient Torsional stiffness.

The cross beam in the semi-trailer frame is stamped or directly made of steel. The former is 15% -20% lighter than the latter, and the former is generally used.

Common beam structure:

1. The circular tube shape has high torsional stiffness, but because the height of the longitudinal beam interface is large, in order to transfer the load from the entire interface to the longitudinal beam, many connecting plates must be repaired, so the weight of the frame is increased and the cost is high. In addition, the process is complicated. In addition, when the torsion is serious, the stress at the connecting plate is large. Therefore, the round pipe beam is generally arranged only at the two ends of the frame longitudinal beam, close to the lower wing plate, to enhance the overall torsional stiffness of the frame.

2. I-shaped, ideal for load transmission, but the longitudinal beam flange and the beam flange are connected, which has a greater constraint on torsion, so the internal stress generated by the flange is larger.

3. Grooved, has similar characteristics to round tube beams, and has better torsion resistance.
